Tesla has issued a recall for all rear-wheel-drive Cybertrucks sold over the past two years due to a risk of wheels detaching.
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) warned that fragile stud holes could lead to wheel stud separation, increasing the risk of a crash.
Only 173 vehicles are affected by the recall, with the low number attributed to the Cybertruck's poor sales performance since its launch.
Tesla will replace the hubs, lug nuts, and front and rear brake rotors on all affected vehicles free of charge to owners.
This recall comes amidst broader challenges for Tesla, including falling sales, losing its position as the top EV seller, and concerns over CEO Elon Musk's political views impacting the brand's reputation.
