If you read by the beach or pool, the Kindle Paperwhite’s IPX8 rating should give you peace of mind. It can be briefly submerged underwater without being damaged. With regard to the lockscreen ads I mentioned earlier, they’re unobtrusive (and will never randomly pop up while you read), but Amazon offers an ad-free version of the Paperwhite that’s on sale for $144.99 ($35 off) at Amazon.
Similarly, you can get the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition, which is ad-free and has 32GB storage — double the storage — as well as wireless charging support and an auto-adjusting frontlight sensor. That model is currently on sale for its new all-time low price of $149.99 ($50 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target (with Target Circle).
