From a self-opening frunk to a mattress that turns a Model Y into a sleeper van, Tesla TikTok just delivered the ultimate “show and tell” for EV mods. And yes, there’s mood lighting.
TikTok creator Brandon (@HSVtesla) isn’t Batman, but his fully accessorized ride comes pretty close to riding like a loaded-out Batmobile.
In a pair of recent TikTok clips, he runs through the ever-growing list of upgrades he’s either bought, been gifted, or installed as part of sponsored posts. It’s part tutorial, part haul video, and part humble-brag about just how far you can push personalization in a Model Y. Nearly every corner of the car—inside, outside, and under the seats—has been touched by aftermarket gear.
Haul Meets How-To
Brandon’s videos lean into the “walk-and-talk” style that plays well on TikTok: Show the part, demo the feature, drop the brand name, and mention it’s linked in the bio. There’s little in the way of cinematic editing—just simple smartphone closeups, and matter-of-fact commentary about why each accessory is useful.
While some Tesla content focuses on big-ticket mods like wheel swaps or wrap jobs, his list is a blend of high-impact changes and small, quality-of-life tweaks. Many of them come straight from the TikTok Shop or familiar aftermarket names like Hansshow, EVbase, and Spigen. And while he’s upfront that some were sponsored, the walkthrough makes it clear that he actually uses them.
The star of the show is the Hansshow automatic frunk kit. Instead of lifting or closing the front trunk manually, a tap on the key fob, Tesla app, or in-car button does the work, complete with an optional beep. “You don’t have to manually close it anymore,” he explains, showing it in action.
From there, the tour moves to subtle but practical upgrades: Spigen side camera covers in a carbon-fiber look to guard against rock chips, Tesla OEM console trays for better storage, and tire valve caps with the Tesla logo for a small pop of branding.
He’s also installed underseat storage bins for stashing small gear and a Fanttik vacuum with a blower function, which lives neatly beneath the passenger seat.

Some of the biggest “wow” factor comes from light kits. A TLYARD frunk and trunk accent light setup gives both cargo areas a glow that’s part utility, part style statement. EVbase illuminated door sills light up when you open the doors—an inexpensive way to add premium flair at night.
These touches aren’t just for show since better lighting makes it easier to load or unload at night. And for the camping crowd, it turns the Model Y into a cozier living space.
Ready for Tesla Camping
If there’s a theme that runs through Brandon’s build, it’s road-trip readiness. The pièce de résistance is a Havnby air-and-foam mattress that turns the folded-down rear seats into a full bed. It inflates in minutes via the Model Y’s 12-volt outlet and comes with extras like sleep masks.
“We absolutely love this thing,” he says, comparing it favorably to his Tempur-Pedic at home. Paired with window privacy shades from the same brand, the setup makes the car a legitimate micro-camper.
The camping kit also benefits from the vacuum’s blower mode for inflating other gear, a Yuanzi steering-wheel lunch tray that doubles as side storage pockets, and those trunk pocket dividers—ideal for keeping groceries, ice, or camp food from sliding around.
Not every accessory is about comfort or aesthetics. A few are pure insurance. An Avapow jump starter kit for dead-battery situations, a Tesla CCS adapter for charging flexibility, and a Geveelife portable air compressor for topping up tires on the road.
These items live in the trunk or underfloor storage, out of sight until they’re needed. For road trippers or anyone who likes to venture far from Superchargers, they’re the kind of add-ons that could save a trip.
Tesla Aesthetic Upgrades and Protection
Beyond the lighting and storage tweaks, Brandon has invested in protecting the car’s finish. The standout is a Tesbros matte paint-protection-film (PPF) kit, which he and his partner applied over a few days. The pre-cut pieces made it a manageable DIY, and the wrap has already paid off with fewer rock chips after road trips.
Other aesthetic choices include EVbase performance-style wheel caps, Spigen’s white armrest cover to match his interior, and OEM-fit all-weather floor mats and trunk liners from the Tesla Shop. Combined, they make the cabin look more cohesive while keeping wear-and-tear in check.
Count every floor mat, tray, liner, and light strip, and the list runs well past 20 distinct accessories. They’re not all flashy but together, they transform the Model Y from a stock crossover into a Swiss Army knife of an EV: Part commuter, part camper, part mobile lounge.
For Tesla owners considering upgrades, the video serves as both inspiration and a reminder to buy with purpose. Some mods are pure fun, like glowing door sills. Others, like the CCS adapter or jump starter, could prove essential in a pinch.
