Prices for the 2025 Zeekr 7X have been revealed in Australia, with the electric SUV coming in at AUD57,900 (approx. RM160k) for the base rear-wheel-drive (RWD) model, moving up to AUD72,900 (approx. RM201k) for the Performance all-wheel-drive (AWD) model, before on-road costs — making the entry-level Zeekr AUD1,000 (approx. RM2.8k) cheaper than the equivalent Tesla Model Y.
Detailed specifications for the Zeekr 7X is not yet available, but the Chinese carmaker confirmed it will be the first EV in Australia to use an 800-volt architecture, enabling faster charging speeds.
Overseas, the Zeekr 7X is available with two battery pack options: a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) ‘Golden Brick’ battery for entry-level variants, and a ‘Qilin’ nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery. The Golden Brick has a capacity of 75 kWh unit, while the Qilin NMC pack goes up to 100 kWh.
The range kicks-off with the RWD variant featuring a single motor making 421 hp and 440 Nm of torque. It is available with both ‘Golden Brick’ and ‘Qilin’ battery options, offering 480 km and 615 km of range respectively, both based on the WLTP cycle.
The AWD variant, on the other hand, boasts 646 hp and 710 Nm of torque from its dual motor setup. This variant is only available with the Qilin battery option, allowing for a driving range of 543 km. ALSO READ: New Zeekr Space showroom and service centre opens in Sunway City
Thanks to its 800-Volt architecture, the ‘Golden Brick’ battery can charge from 10-80% in 10.5 minutes via DC fast charging. The ‘Qilin’ pack takes 15 minutes for the same 10-80% charge. Along with this, the Zeekr 7X also has V2L capability that can supply electricity up to 60 kW DC or 3.3 kW AC.
Inside, the Zeekr 7X features a 13.02-inch digital instrument cluster and a 16-inch central infotainment display. It also comes equipped with a 21-speaker sound system, Qi wireless charging, and Nappa leather upholstery for added comfort.
While the Zeekr beats the Tesla at the low end, the long-range AWD Model Y actually comes in at a more affordable AUD68,900 (approx. RM190k) compared to the 7X Performance AWD. That said, optional extras like Full Self-Driving, 20-inch wheels, a dual-tone interior, and a home charger will most certainly push its total cost well above the Zeekr 7X. Fortunately for Zeekr customers, a 7kW home charger and a 240-volt trickle charger are included as standard.
The Australian pricing offers a hint at what to expect when the Zeekr 7X arrives on our shores. Previewed at the Malaysia Autoshow earlier this year, Zeekr Malaysia has since announced estimated local pricing, starting at RM182,000 for the RWD Standard, RM195,000 for the RWD Long Range, and RM230,000 for the AWD Performance.
For comparison, the Tesla Model Y in Malaysia starts at RM195,450 for the RWD variant, while the Long Range AWD is priced at RM242,450.
