Elon Musk has been a vocal fan of Elden Ring since it launched in 2022 but was dubbed the game’s “worst ever player” after sharing a disastrous build. He’s also been heavily criticised by the gaming community for “faking” achievements and paying other players to level up his Diablo and Path Of Exile characters for him.
The writer of Deus Ex recently called Musk’s love of the game the “worst legacy” of the franchise and Avowed’s art director Matt Hansen hit back at Musk’s complaints about pronouns in the fantasy game. “It’s honestly deeply surreal to have the world’s richest, shittiest boy whine about something I am making. I am quite frankly giddy. I cannot think of a single person in the world I would rather irritate.”

Last year, Musk said gaming was his “one recreational activity” and he does it to “quiet” his mind inbetween raising his kids and working at SpaceX, Tesla and X. “Some days are real tough, so playing video games is my strange solace.”
