These renderings produced for Kolesa are based around these recent images and show the Model Y with these split lights. As with so many other cars to launch in recent years with split headlights, the top section houses the LED daytime running lights while the lower areas house the main headlamps and high beams. Given that the old Model 3 and the outgoing Model Y look almost identical, it’ll be nice if the new SUV does indeed look a little different than its sedan sibling.
However, we’d be surprised if the refreshed Model Y’s front end looks exactly like this. If it does, Tesla may face accusations that it ripped off the design of Nio’s new Onvo L60, which has split headlights almost identical in shape to those featured in these renders.
The rear of the new model will also be refreshed. Recently, a tester was spotted with an LED light bar, indicating that the taillights will also be distinct from the Model 3. No other changes have been made to the Tesla’s tailgate or rear bumper in these images, but there will inevitably be some updates when the car is unveiled.
