This isn't your typical Cybertruck story, so buckle up. Prepare to meet the world's most popular grandpa and his jaw-dropping new ride.
Alex, the enthusiastic proprietor of EV Autos (@evautoalex), had seen it all. Or so he thought.
On Tuesday morning, a call came in that would forever change his perception of electric vehicle enthusiasts. A gentleman on the other end, calm and collected, declared his intent to purchase a Tesla Cybertruck.
Alex, used to the whirlwind of young tech professionals eager for the latest EV, replied, "Come on down, I've got one waiting for you."
The caller, however, had one specific demand: "I don't want one of those silver Cybertrucks. I want a black wrap with dark-tinted windows."
Alex, never one to shy away from a challenge, assured him it would be ready before he even arrived.
The next day, as Alex watched a couple walk through the showroom doors, he did a double-take. His usual Cybertruck clientele consisted of adrenaline-fueled buyers in their mid-thirties, eager to push the boundaries of automotive design.
But the man approaching him, hand-in-hand with his equally beaming wife, was not in that demographic. Brent was celebrating his 75th birthday, and by his side was Kathy, his wife of over 50 years.
This was no ordinary senior couple buying a sensible sedan.
Kathy, it turned out, was even more excited than Brent, practically bubbling with encouragement for him to embrace "one of the most controversial trucks in the world."
Their mantra? You Only Live Once.
Brent wasn't some impulsive buyer. He was a man who knew what he wanted. For years, he'd had his eye on the Cybertruck, following its every development.
He'd even test-driven one previously, getting a feel for its unique handling and futuristic features. He was already a true believer, and now, with the price having finally dipped to his satisfaction, he was ready to pull the trigger on his dream vehicle. He wasn't just buying a truck; he was embracing a way of life.
"No need for another test drive, Alex," Brent said with a knowing smile, his eyes sparkling with anticipation as they landed on the imposing, blacked-out Cybertruck awaiting him.
He wasn't looking for a silver chariot; he wanted a vehicle that someone half his age would be proud to drive away in.
Let's pick up the story and hear from Alex about how this unusual Cybertruck sale unfolded.
He says,
"I just sold a Cybertruck to a guy that's 75 years old, and he told me, no loan."
As Brent walks up, Alex says, "Are you the gentleman who wants to buy the Cybertruck?" Yes, says the distinguished-looking man. "I think you are the oldest person I've ever sold a Cybertruck to. Isn't that awesome?"
"I'm only 35," Brent says with a grin on his face.
Kathy says, "I got this for his 75th birthday."
"I think that is so awesome," Alex says as he beams from ear to ear.
"Have you driven it yet?"
"Yeah, I don't need to take a test drive," Brent says as he's ready to get on the road.

"Okay, so do you want me to take a few minutes and show you some things about it?" "Sure," Brent says.
Next, Alex tells the couple that he's owned a Cybertruck for a long time; it's his daily driver and his favorite vehicle to drive.
"It has some unique technology, and it drives like a sports car," he tells Brent. "It handles easily, and it's not like driving a big truck."
However, Brent already knows this, and he is eager to finalize the sale.
He listens to Alex as he sits in the passenger seat and hears about a few of the Cybertruck's unique features.
He shows Brent the app that he just installed on his phone and explains one of his favorite features.
"If you come down here to security and drivers, you can add a driver and send a temporary key to someone via a text message."
Kathy wants to learn about all the cool stuff, too. She's as excited as Brent.
Alex finishes and says, "There are two things. You are my oldest Cybertruck customer, and you are my most educated customer. I have never sold a Cybertruck to someone who knew as much about it as you do."
Brent says, "I am tech-savvy because I worked for a tech company."
Alex watches the couple drive away. He's as excited as Brent and Kathy. "Have fun, you two,” he says, waving goodbye.
“Imagine what the grandkids will say when he pulls up that thing,” he chuckles to himself as they drive off.
