Tesla has officially arrived in India, kicking things off with the launch of the Model Y. Prices start at Rs 59.89 lakh and go up to Rs 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Long Range version. Tesla’s Full-Self Driving (FSD) tech is also being offered here for an additional Rs 6 lakh.
While the Model Y is packed with cutting-edge features, what really sets Tesla apart globally is its vast Supercharger network, and that’s coming to India too.
In global markets like the US and Europe, Tesla’s Superchargers make long-distance EV driving easy and worry-free. Now, Indian buyers eyeing the Model Y will be glad to know that Tesla has confirmed its first Supercharger locations in India on its official website.
For now, eight locations have been planned: four in the Delhi-NCR region and four in Mumbai. In Delhi-NCR, Tesla Superchargers will be set up in Aerocity, Saket, Noida, and Gurugram. In Mumbai, the network will cover Thane, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Lower Parel, and Navi Mumbai.
Tesla is expected to expand this network further as it grows its presence in India. For now, owners in other cities will have to rely on home charging or use NACS adapters to connect their Teslas to India’s existing CCS Type-2 fast chargers.
