---Cape Canaveral Space Force Station hosted the Space Coast's 12th launch of the year on Thursday, a SpaceX Falcon 9 mission that vaulted away with internet satellites and returned for a local landing that rattled windows throughout Central Florida.
After the 2:13 p.m. EST liftoff from Launch Complex 40, the rocket followed a southerly trajectory and skirted between Florida's east coast and the Bahamas to deliver another batch of 40 satellites to orbit for OneWeb, an internet service provider and competitor to SpaceX's Starlink. Shortly after launch, the 162-foot first-stage booster touched down at nearby Landing Zone 1.
Thursday's flight, dubbed OneWeb 17, was the third time a Falcon 9 launched satellites for OneWeb. According to a post on the company's Twitter account, it also marked the "penultimate mission ahead of achieving global coverage."
