SpaceX liftoff in Florida is 10 minutes away Update 8:55 a.m.: This morning's SpaceX Starlink launch is set to take to the sky in just 10 minutes. It is a beautiful morning in Brevard County to go outside and watch a rocket launch. KSC Visitor Complex hosting SpaceX launch viewing in Florida Update 8:45 a.m.: If you're at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, be aware launch viewing is offered today, and for upcoming missions. SpaceX Falcon 9 fueling now underway Update 8:38 a.m.: Visual cues indicate Falcon 9 fueling procedures are now underway at Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 40, though SpaceX has yet to make an official announcement. That means this morning's Starlink mission is now locked in to lift off at 9:05 a.m. without any countdown delays, or else the launch must be postponed. Brevard EOC activates ahead of SpaceX launch in Florida Update 8:33 a.m.: Brevard County Emergency Management officials have activated the agency's launch operations support team ahead of SpaceX’s upcoming Falcon 9 launch. SpaceX launch in Cape Canaveral: Will there be a sonic boom? Update 8:25 a.m.: This morning's liftoff will not see a Space Coast sonic boom. Just over eight minutes past the launch, the well-traveled booster will land on SpaceX's drone ship called Just Read the Instructions, which will be stationed out in the Atlantic Ocean. SpaceX rocket launch in Florida: SpaceX Falcon 9 booster history Update 8:15 a.m.: The Polaris Dawn mission, which was commanded by former nominee for NASA administrator, Jared Isaacman, is seeing its booster fly again − this morning. The booster launching this morning previously launched NASA's Crew-8, Polaris Dawn, CRS-31, Astranis: From One to Many, IM-2, and six other Starlink missions. Axiom Space crew launching tomorrow Update 8:05 a.m.: This morning's Starlink launch is just the beginning of the Space Coast launch week. Axiom Space Mission 4 is set to liftoff no earlier than 8 a.m. tomorrow, June 11. A launch of Amazon Kuiper internet satellites is also set for no earlier than Friday, June 13. SpaceX launch in Florida this morning will see more Starlink satellites Update 7:55 a.m.: What is Starlink? Starlink is satellite internet service provided by SpaceX. Paying customers can receive internet in some of the most remote places on Earth. This includes even out at sea. It is also utilized by many airlines to provide inflight internet service to customers. SpaceX launch in Florida weather outlook Update 7:45 a.m.: The 45th Weather Squadron has predicted a 95% chance of favorable weather for the beginning of the launch window − which SpaceX is taking advantage of at 9:05 a.m. The National Weather Service shows little weather activity to the southeast − the direction the rocket is traveling.
