WATCH: SpaceX Launches Falcon 9 Rocket Overnight from Cape Canaveral
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket carrying 28 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit early Wednesday morning, June 18. Liftoff occurred at 1:55 a.m. ET from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
The launch marked the fifth flight for the Falcon 9 first stage booster, which had previously supported missions including SES O3b mPOWER-E, Crew-10, Bandwagon-3, and another Starlink flight. Following stage separation, the booster landed successfully on the Just Read the Instructions droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
The 28 Starlink satellites deployed during the mission will enhance SpaceX’s growing satellite internet constellation, which aims to provide high-speed broadband service across the globe, particularly in remote and underserved areas.
The launch continued SpaceX’s busy cadence in 2025 and was streamed live on Space Coast Daily
