
Tesla Showroom To Open In India Mid-July With Made-In-China EVs On Sale; Internet Jibes ‘Indian Roads Are Ready’

Tesla has been vying the Indian automotive market for a while now, with several roadblocks along the way. However his recent camaraderie with the powers in the corridor has proven to ease the entry of both Tesla and Starlink in India. Incorporated in Karnataka in January 2021, Tesla India Motors And Energy Private Ltd with 3 directors onboard, 1) Vaibhav Taneja (now Teslaâs newly designated CFO), 2) Venkatrangam Sreeram, and 3) David Jon Feinstein, it was earlier reported that the EV giant had leased a plush space in Pune for its office. The Elon Musk company opted for Mumbai's prime hub BKC for its showroom spanning 4000 sq ft. at Rs 35 lakh monthly rent at five-year lease.
Per reports the showroom will open somewhere in mid-July. An additional showroom in Delhi is also touted at the same time. The Tesla showroom will showcase Made-in-China Model Y EVs for the desis. Another publication reported that Tesla Model 3 and Model Y were spotted. Per reports the EVs in India will cost an upwards of $56,000! People familiar with the matter claimed that the company has already imported car accessories, supercharger components, and spares from the US, China, and Netherlands.
