A SpaceX Starship exploded during a routine test on Wednesday. According to the Cameron County Constable Precinct 1, at approximately 11:01 p.m., SpaceX's Starship 36 experienced a catastrophic failure and exploded during a routine static fire test. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. Authorities wrote that emergency protocols were swiftly enacted, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the incident. SpaceX issued the following statement on the incident: On Wednesday, June 18 at approximately 11 p.m. CT, the Starship preparing for the tenth flight test experienced a major anomaly while on a test stand at Starbase. A safety clear area around the site was maintained throughout the operation and all personnel are safe and accounted for. Our Starbase team is actively working to safe the test site and the immediate surrounding area in conjunction with local officials.
