The Boring Company Hawthorne Tunnel
The Boring Company
Very little about Elon Musk's efforts to dig his way out of Los Angeles traffic – a simple idea turned actual project called The Boring Company – has been done according to a normal business plan. Formed in 2016 after Musk floated the idea of a tunnel to get through the city faster, The Boring Company has morphed into a company offering consumer merchandise, most notably flamethrowers, which should be shipping in May. The company has started digging real-world tunnels (see photo above) and Musk just took to Twitter to announce tidbits of information about what's next in his boring saga. This time, it has to do with toys.
On Twitter just an hour ago, Musk said that the next wave of Boring Company merchandise will be Lego-style building bricks that have been made from tunneling rock. Musk didn't say how many pieces a box of this merch will hold, just that the first wave will have pieces themed to build ancient Egyptian-style sets.
New Boring Company merch coming soon. Lifesize LEGO-like interlocking bricks made from tunneling rock that you can use to create sculptures & buildings. Rated for California seismic loads, so super strong, but bored in the middle, like an aircraft wing spar, so not heavy.
