Elon Musk on Thursday announced that SpaceX will not decommission its Dragon spacecraft just hours after announcing that the space company will be decommissioning it as his feud with US President escalates, reports Reuters.
Earlier, the billionaire announced the decommissioning of the spacecraft after Trump threatened to cut off SpaceX's federal contracts and subsidies.

The US President, in a Truth Social post, had said that the easiest way to save money in our Budget is to cancel Musk's contracts and subsidies.
"The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts. I was always surprised that Biden didn’t do it!," he posted.
The Dragon capsule was recently used to bring back stranded crew members including Sunita Williams, Butch Wilmore, American Nick Hague, and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov.
It can carry up to seven astronauts for missions to and from Earth’s orbit and beyond and also transports cargo back to Earth. NASA, since 2020, has used the Dragon spacecraft through a $5 billion contract with SpaceX.
SpaceX has secured $15 billion in contracts from NASA, supporting missions by transporting scientific payloads and spacecraft on its Falcon 9 rocket.
