Bastrop city and county officials confirmed infrastructure updates are underway to accommodate the relocation of Elon Musk's social media company X—formerly known as Twitter—near Hyperloop Plaza in the 800 block of FM 1209.
X will mark the spot for Musk's fourth Bastrop County company—not including his soon-to-open Montessori school, Ad Astra.

Some background
On Sept. 14, the tech billionaire updated the address in California court filings for the social media company from San Fransico to Bastrop.
Bastrop City Manager Sylvia Carrillo and Mel Hamner, Bastrop County commissioner for Precinct 1, confirmed the social media platform's headquarters will be moved to Hyperloop Plaza.
What's happening
Officials said more infrastructure is needed, including wastewater treatment and traffic adjustments, to support the move.
The Musk facilities, which include The Boring Company, Boring Bodega, SpaceX's Starlink, and X, will be connected to the new wastewater treatment plant.

Bastrop Public Information Manager Colin Guerra said Corix Utilities Texas—a private water, wastewater and gas utility provider—will transport the wastewater from the Musk facilities to the new wastewater treatment plant, which began for residents west of the Colorado River on May 8.
Traffic in that area is another factor to consider, officials said.
Jeffrey Barker, Texas Department of Transportation spokesperson, said X is in the permitting process to design and construct additional left- and right-turn lanes on FM 1209.
Carrillo said there are plans to widen the highway as well.
What else?
Hamner said construction began in July on a second Boring Bodega, located adjacent to the current Boring Bodega—which offers drinks, snacks and a cafe.
"It is my understanding that the X headquarters will be located to the left of the second bodega," Hamner said. "The rate that they build, I bet it is up by the middle of next year."
Hamner said the Musk companies currently employ about 3,000 employees—not counting the contractors working on the expansions.
"This is a big economic boom for the county," Hamner said.
